After wrestling in Tijuana for many years, debuted in CMLL's Arena Coliseo on March 21, 2010. Wrestles mostly in the opener, but sticks out by giving someone a Spanish Fly off the apron to the floor in pretty much every match. Left CMLL for rival AAA on June 30, 2011.
Incognito is believed to have started using the name Mistico just before the CMLL wrestler of the same name. However, Incongnito was doing so in the lesser known rings of Juarez (compared to Mistico in Mexico City) and CMLL seemingly won the rights to the name in court. Incongnito will still occasionally use varaied spellings of the name "Mistico" close to Juarez, since the fans there knew him under that name, but has switched to Incognito elsewhere. Supporters of Incongito claim he's more spectacular than Mistico, but he's not close to Mistico's level of fame.

Incongito is said to be (or was) studying to become a priest.

Incognito is also wrestling in FMLL (LA). In his last match, he teamed with Huracan Ramirez Jr. and El Jalisco, and announced he'd be changing to a Mask of Zorro personality. It's not clear if this will also take place in Mexico.

Incognito has signed a developmental contract with the WWE and is set to go to FCW starting February of 2010. He had a tryout match in ECW on December 15 of 2009. He wrestled unmasked against Caylen Croft and Trent Barreta in a tag match. The funny thing regarding his tryout is he never actually stepped into the ring, Incognito did not recieve a tag from his partner and stayed most of the time in the apron.

From 2010 until August 2011, Incognito was in WWE's developmental territory FCW. In August 2011, he took over the role of Sin Cara from the former Mistico. In late August they both used the name before Incognito being named the full-time Sin Cara in September.
Notes
Began his career working various stripper type gimmicks before eventually joining up with two other young wrestlers to form Los Barrio Boys where he achieved his first real success in the wrestling business. They feuded with various teams including Los Diabolicos & The Black Family - the latter of which cost Billy his first ever hair loss.

Billy then had the opportunity to work as a masked wrestler named Alfa in 2004 when Antonio Pena tried to create some new stars. The gimmick never really went anywhere and quietly disappeared although for a while it did earn Billy some main event matches.

It was right after the Alfa gimmick ended that the long-running Billy Boy vs. Gran Apache feud began. Billy would bring signs to the ring declaring his love for Fabi Apache (the two had been dating and eventually married + had a son in real life) and naturally her father would object to this. The storyline has had so many twists and turns it would be impossible to explain everything however during their long-running feud Billy has tried many things to try to please Gran Apache including being his friend, hiding under the Alfa mask to win his trust, beating up a stranger who tried to hit on Fabi (Brandon) and proving he was a better wrestler inside the ring. Unfortunately for Billy this led to two straight hair match losses to his father-in-law. The second time he lost his hair was thanks to (unwilling) help from Fabi and this sent Billy into a tailspin. He became very sad and his Barrio Boy partners actually turned on him which eventually led to Billy being committed for psychiatric help. He not only came out a much happier man but around the same time Alfa appeared on the scene again although it was not noted by anyone that Billy had played the role before. Instead this Alfa claimed to be a rookie and begged Gran Apache to train him. He gave in and eventually liked the rookie so much he tried to hook him up with his daughter to get her over that evil Billy Boy character! Of course it was at Verano De Escandalo 2007 where Alfa tore off his mask after his match and stunned the world by reuniting with Fabi. This should have sparked a new chapter in the feud with Gran Apache however it was bad timing as Apache had just gotten hurt on a small show and was out of action for quite some time. When he managed to return the feud with Billy was put on the backburner to focus on the Fabi vs. Mari Apache feud which eventually led to a hair match where the entire Apache family reunited with Billy watching. This left Billy in limbo and his anger seemed to build inside. At Guerra de Titanes 2008 he viciously attacked his wife who was standing up for her father and officially turned rudo for the first time in his career. Throughout 2009 he has continued to torment the Apache family and feuded with Fabi's newest love interest Aero Star.

Billy has certainly come a long way from a green flyer wearing a tiny speedo doing a stripper gimmick to one of the most well-rounded wrestlers and best rudos in AAA. Lots of this can be credited to Gran Apache taking him under his wing which had led to the natural comparison that Billy Boy is the new version of Gran Apache, especially now that he is a rudo. Sadly he also appears to be paralleling his father-in-law career wise as even though Gran Apache was always respected as a fantastic wrestler, he never managed to move up on the cards and was always an opening match act.

Interesting facts:

- Even though the official start to the Billy vs Apache feud over his love for Fabi didn't begin until 2004, they had a short feud when Billy was a Spice Boy in 1999.

- One really obvious loophole in the storyline involving Billy dressing up as Alfa to win over Fabi is AAA actually aired a skit on TV early in the angle where Billy was walking through a large crowd and saw Alfa and Fabi on a date which made him really depressed. AAA never bothered explaining how that was possible if Billy was Alfa all along but one can use their imagination to pretend Billy paid someone to be Alfa for the date knowing the cameras would capture it and throw Gran Apache off his scent.

- Billy, Hijo del Tirantes and Mesias were both arrested in the summer of 2009 for allegedly beating up a fan while on cocaine after a show. Mesias denied having any part in the altercation and said he was just trying to calm the situation down between Billy and the fan. Billy and Tirantes Jr. ended up being officially suspended for two weeks while Mesias wasn't punished.
He appears to have gone back to AAA to become the new Alebrije, which has not yet made it on TV.
RXLL
In 2006, Vampiro joined promoter Pepe Villa in starting a new Guadalajara based promotion called Revolucion Xtreme Lucha Libre (RXLL). The promotion's style was similar to that of US based promotions XPW & WSX and several behind both involved in management roles. They had struck a TV deal with Televisa to air in the Guadalajara market and taped their first event on September 2, 2006 with a main event of Vampiro vs. Sean Waltman. The taping turned out to be a disaster with the gate being way below what was predicted and both talent and management members weren't payed or only partially what was agreed upon. Vampiro also clashed with the production team over the poor quality and editing of the taping when it aired on Televisa. Despite the problems Vampiro moved forward including negotiating with several international promotions and striking a TV deal with Japan based Samurai TV. The second taping took place on October 1, 2006. Most of the bigger name foreign talent were pulled prior to the taping and the card was completely shuffled to feature mostly local talent with a main event of Vampiro vs. Nosawa. Most of talent were payed but the US based management wasn't and Vampiro would finally part ways with Villa. Villa ran a couple shows under the name LLX using Rey Misterio Sr. as booker and top draw before being dropped by Televisa. Vampiro claimed he would continue running RXLL with Televisa backing, but nothing came of it and he would begin working CMLL shows at Arena Coliseo Guadalajara within a few months.
It is a umbrella group containing the combination of Legión Extranjera, Los Maniacos, The Militia and Perros del Mal, as well as occasionally unaligned rudos. Dorian Roldan is the leader of the group, though Konnan is portrayed as manipulating Dorian to his own ends.

this article refers to the faction, and not the current promotion which is using the same name

Perros del Mal (Dogs of Evil) were a CMLL rudo faction put together by Perro Aguayo Jr. from 2004 to 2008. The group worked as cool rudos, usually receiving as much if not more support from the fans than the tecnicos they opposed. In October of 2008, Perro Aguayo Jr. announced his resignation from CMLL with designs of using this name for his own promoted events, and was followed by Mr. Aguila and Damian 666. Those three, with others joining and returning, formed their own promotion and continued the group in their promotion of the name. At XVIII, members of the promotion invaded AAA. Since then, a core group of Perros del Mal wrestlers have become a regular group in AAA.

Ephesto turned on his Lagunero teammates to help his ex-partners, now a part of this group, right before the faction ended. It's unclear if he was meant to be considered to be part of the group (especially in light of being specifically passed over for membership earlier in the year), but it's also nearly irrelevant considered the group was ending anyway.

CMLL dropped all references to the faction shortly after, with the remaining members forming Jauria del Terror in it's place.
* Bestia 666
* Radge
* Pesadilla

Perros del Mal ran an angle on their September 16, 2010 show in Mixhuca with Booker T joining the group. The angle was never followed up on and Booker has been back on the tecnico side without explanation.

History
The group started with an outsider makeup: Perro, Hector, and Aguila all jumped (separately) from AAA (as did Shocker before his short stint with this group), and Damian 666 and Halloween are considered as outsiders from Tijuana.
Perros del Mal had rivalries with Los Hermanos Dinamita, Guerreros del Infierno/Guerreros de la Atlantida and Mistico, as well feuding with various rudos. Texano joined the group by turning on his partners Sagrado and Maximo to had a Perros team the Mexican National Trios Championship, but those issues were never followed up on.

When the group initially formed, Blue Demon Jr. was part of the lineup. Demon didn't stick around in CMLL long term and faded out of the membership list. Demon's returned to CMLL since and been an ally to Perros, but both sides have said he's not an official member. Terrible was an ally to the team since the earliest days and wore Perro gear, but apparently was not considered an official member until Fall '07.

Latin Lover appeared with the group, and posed wearing the Perros del Mal shirt in Arena Mexico during an impasse with AAA. As with the Rey Misteriso Jr. picture included with this article, it was no more than a photo op to get people talking.

For a time, Tarzan Boy teamed with members of the group and wore the Perros del Mal t-shirts, because he was part of a CMLL Trios championship team with Hector Garza and Terrible. As the Guerreros vs Perros rudo team feud started, there was a slight tease of Tarzan debating which side to be on. He quickly ended up with the Guerreros and his alliance with the Perros has since been forgot.

Pierroth Jr. was an early member of Perros del Mal, partially due to common enemies. When Pierroth and Hector Garza started to feud, and Pierroth tried to stage a coup to take over the group, he was turfed from the group. Pierroth brought in an army of (fake) sons to feud with the Perros, but Hector beat him in a hair match decisively win that feud.

Shocker returned to CMLL in summer of 2006 as a surprise member of Perros del Mal. It didn't last long, and Shocker turned on the group after the slightest provocation in a trios titles match, cost the team the belts. Shocker's vaguely feuded with the group, but ended up leaving CMLL once again.

Lizmark Jr. teased a rudo turn infrequently during 2007. He finally snapped on Mistico and was recruited to the Perros. His membership lasted longer than Shocker's, but not much longer. While attempting to beat rival Blue Panther in a trios match, he attacked his partners Garza and Aguayo to make sure he'd get the pin. That didn't sit well, and Lizmark was turned on and kicked from the group. Lizmark Jr.'s become an associate of the Guerreros since, and his revenge plot has been folded into the larger rudo group vs rudo group rivalry.

Soon after Lizmark was turfed, Halloween asked for and received his release from CMLL. This left the Perros down a couple members, and Aguayo promised he'd find two people to Halloween and Lizmark's place. Perro's remark wasn't hyped much, which was for the best when the new members turned out to be guys already hanging out with the Perros - Terrible and Texano Jr. As mentioned, Terrible had been a pseudo member since the early days of the group, and Texano had been an unofficial member ever since he turned rudo to give the Perros the Mexican National Trios Championships in April of 2007.

On February 1st, Averno & Mephisto won the tag team titles from Guerreros del Atlantida members Ultimo Guerrero & Atlantis, rivals of Los Perros. Perro Aguayo Jr. congratulated the new champions, declared the rivals of his rivals must be his friends, and invited the duo into the group. Averno and Mephisto have accepted, though somewhat tentatively. Hector Garza disagreed with the additions, feeling they were distilling the impact of the group. To that point, all the long term members had been unmasked wild men with quasi-independent status, while Averno & Mephisto were long time CMLL masked wrestlers with a more focused attack. Garza might have been correct, but Perro appeared to feel ability to defeat Mistico was all that mattered, and Hector's continued protest of the new members caused all of the Perros to turn on him and kick him out of the group. Ironicly, it led to Garza teaming with Mistico, beating Averno & Mephisto for the tag team titles.

When Averno & Mephisto joined the Perros, their La Triad del Terror partner Ephesto was specifically mentioned as not being included. Ephesto wandered aimlessly, seemingly having no grudge at being left behind while having no other issues to focus on, until CMLL suddenly became teaming the three men up again as if nothing had happened. The Perros ties Los Villanos and Ephesto's association with Los Laguneros appeared to put the men into conflict, but Ephesto simply turned on the other Laguneros and helped Averno & Mephisto win the very first time they fought. Since this was the final week of Los Perros in CMLL, at least for this period, it's unclear if Ephesto was supposedly to be considered a member of this group or it it was simply a re-enforcing of La Triada del Terror.

After Perro Aguayo Jr. announced he was forming his own promotion, both Mr. Aguila and Damian 666 decided to leave CMLL to join him. Averno & Mephisto stayed, ripping up their Perros del Mal gear the following week and wearing anti-Perros t-shirt the following weeks. Texano Jr. and Terrible also stayed in CMLL, and joined the new Los Hijos del Averno faction. Cibernetico and Halloween would join the Perros del Mal with the new promotion Perro Aquayo started. However Cibernetico did not last long with the promotion as he would later return to AAA as a part of Los Bizarros.

Perros del Mal came into AAA for TripleMania 18 in June 2010 to help celebrate with LA Park after beating La Parka for the rights to his name.

In AAA the group is aligned with La Legión Extranjera.
Biography
Feud with Charly Manson
In 2006, El Zorro was the Mexican National Heavyweight champion, but Charly Manson was chasing him for the title. Zorro kept holding onto to the belt, until Manson was finally able to defeat on June 4th in Hidalgo. Their feud spilled into a cage/hair match at TripleMania 14. Zorro battled, but Charly got some (unwanted) help from his rudo allies to win the match.

The Man In The Iron Mask (2006-2007)
Zorro not only lost his hair and his sanity. After Charly won the match and cut Zorro's hair, his friends in La Secta helped him place a new mask on Zorro, one that was claimed to have an ancient Mayan curse. Zorro's personality changed after, and he acted disconnected from his tecnico partners and friends. In the weeks directly after the mask was put on, Charly Manson seemed appeared to have some sort of mental control of Zorro via the mask, causing Zorro to turn on his opponents, but this aspect was dropped a few months later. The feud with Charly was dropped entirely when Manson left the Sect and joined the more tecnico Hell Brothers, leaving Zorro without an obvious storyline conclusion of his trapped-in-a-mask saga.

AAA did eventually find one. Zorro cemented the alliance between the Hell Brothers and the regular AAA tecnicos in June of 2007, by taking off his mask and presenting it to Cibernetico as proof of his trustworthiness. The unmasked Zorro had a new rougher look, with shorter hair and a full beard, then when the mask was put on. Zorro's current personality seems to be back to where it was before the mask was put on.

Rey de Reyes and Apostol (Late 2007-2008)
Later in 2007, Zorro turned on the Hell Brothers to join La Legión Extranjera. Zorro claimed he was shown the light; he was actually a Spaniard, not Mexican, and was against the Mexicans. Zorro and Konnan conspired to turn on Mesias and La Secta when Mesias balked at giving Zorro a title match, and the three way feud led to a three way title match Guerra de Titanes.

During the title match, Cibernetico suffered a badly burned back after being put thru a table on fire. With Mesias also gone (destroyed by the Legion in storyline, traveling back to Puerto Rico otherwise), AAA had a void in their main events. Zorro got a big push, anointing himself the apostle or prophet of Lucha Libre (playing off "Mesias" (Messiah) and Cibernetico calling himself "God") and winning the 2008 Rey de Reyes. Zorro's springboarding off that triumphant to a title match versus Cibernetico at TripleMania.

Biography
Charly Manson is currently part of AAA, and has spent most of his career there (though he had a short stint with IWRG.) Manson's been part of many different factions of AAA - Vatos Locos, Vipers, LLL, La Secta, and Vipers Revolution. In November 2006 Manson joined Los Hell Brothers along with Cibernetico and Chessman and feuded with the remaining Secta.

As the name indicates, Manson's look and entrance is very inspired by US Musician Marilyn Manson

Charly's had many high points in his career, the low point was an ill advised fall from a ladder during a 2001 match. The idea was for him to fall thru tables to break his fall, but the tables were not close enough, and Manson crashed to the hard cement floor. Manson was severely hurt, suffering a completely fractured left fibula.

A metal plate was placed on the back of Manson's fibula, to keep the leg intact. Charly had a long recovery, and a rough one without his wrestling income, but did return to the ring in 2002. Manson changed his style and never did another ladder match, but seemed to physically recover from the injury. Manson continued to progress as a wrestler, reaching a solid upper midcard level.

Unfortunately, Manson broke the same bone and plate in May of 2008, just on a simple tope. This time, it required the plate being inserted inside the fibula instead of aside it. Manson returned from his latest injury in early 2009, with much reduced mobility in the repaired leg.

AAA Controversy
Charly Manson was advertised in AAA's Heroes Inmortales III event in a hair vs hair match against Chessman. Charly Manson walked out of the promotion weeks before the show. AAA officials stated that if Manson did not wrestle in the event they would seek legal action. Manson no showed the event and his real life brother Electroshock took his place losing the match and his hair. Charly Manson has since joined up and wrestled in the Perros Del Mal promotion.

Perros del Mal
Charly spent most of his time in Perros del Mal feuding with X-Fly, including losing the Mexican National Heavyweight Championship to the larger wrestler. In another controversy, Manson then lost the same time on a smaller show, and the second loss was photographed and posted on the internet. The Perros del Mal promotion claimed no knowledge of what happened, and had X-Fly appear with the title belt at a press conference. The Mexico City commission acknowledged the issue only to clear the Perros of any wrong doing, and never appeared to take action on the matter. Charly never talked about the situation, which eventually blew over. Manson went on to take X-Fly's hair, but left Perros del Mal before ever winning the title back.

Invasor
When the Perros del Mal started moving towards AAA, Manson split from the promotion and started working independent shows where CMLL luchadors worked against indy talent. Charly was not one of the initial ex-AAA luchadors brought in for CMLL's The Invasors faction, nor did he work the 2010 Sin Salida show featuring CMLL versus Invasors, but apparently made a good enough impression on the CMLL wrestlers that he was brought in as part of the group in July 2010. Before long, Charly had singles matches with Mistico in Arena Puebla (a loss) and Hijo del Fantamsa in Arena Mexico (a win) and was generally treated as a star. It's expected Charly is being built up for an eventual hair match loss, and the run is his highest visibility in Mexico since leaving AAA.

Masked Warriors
Manson wrestles as Charlie Malice for the Lucha Libre USA: Masked Warriors promotion, concurrently with his CMLL and independent schedule. Besides the name change, he's essentially the same character as always. Unlike in CMLL, Malice is a tecnico in the US promtoion, and has so far gotten the better of a feud with Rellik. Charlie Malice has also reached the semifinals of the Lucha Libre USA Heavyweight Tournament, 2010, though he'd figure to lose to Hijo de Lizmark.

In May of 2009 when Cibernetico's indy bookings started drying up (due to his heavy price tag) he formed a new group/promotion built around himself called Los Bizarros.

The original group was said to represent various underground scenes in Mexico City: Punk Rockers, Metalheads, Gays & Emo's.

Cibernetico would return to AAA on June 20, 2009 telling the press that he would be bringing Los Bizarros to AAA as well. On July 3, the other members of Los Bizarros ran in to help Cibernetico attack El Mesias in Queretaro.

The other members did not again appear on television. They were in the opener of the August 30th TV taping, but they lost their match versus the lowest ranked members of the AAA roster, which then did not air.

While Cibernetico continues to wear his Bizzaro t-shirt on occasion, the group seems to be on the outside of AAA. Only Nygma was still appearing on spot shows by Fall of 2009. The other members away. Punker said left the group , and the rest haven't been seen under those ring names.

In August of 2010, angry with the leadership of AAA's failures against La Sociedad, Cibernetico teased forming his own faction and started wearing a Los Bizarros t-shirt. Cibernetico begin slowly debuting a new Bizarros group, with only Nygma resurfacing from the old group.

Group History
Legión Extranjera (Foreign Legion) is an AAA rudo group, though loosely affiliated. It's basically a catch all for one time and irregularly scheduled foreign heels, working as Konnan's hired guns. This is also allows AAA to advertise matches where the Legión Extranjera are scheduled, without announcing the specific participants before the show (and since they appear to have last minute changes, it prevents false advertising.)

The Foreign Legion leader is Konnan. At the end of 2006, he was put out of action by Cibernetico (giving him time to take care of health issues.) Nicho debuted in 2007 as the replacement leader, getting revenge for Konnan while he was recovering. Konnan eventually returned and remained in control. Since his heel turn, Dorian Roldan has been a sort of co-leader, but has also led his own group.

During the period Konnan worked for TNA, many TNA wrestlers appeared in AAA as both members of Legión Extranjera and as representing their promotions. When Konnan left TNA on bad terms, TNA stopped sending title. By 2010, the promotions had patched up enough to share talent again, most notable Hernandez.

Most wrestlers listed appeared very few times; this list is an attempt to include everyone who was part of Legión Extranjera. Besides Konnan and Nicho, only Kenzo Suzuki and Head Hunter I were regulars early in 2007. Both X-Pac and Ron Killings became regulars with unit (and promotion) in mid 2007, and Sabu frequently appeared with them as well. The Foreign Legion has had ties to La Secta, Vipers Revolution, Vipers 2.0, The Hart Foundation 2.0, La Hermandad and The Dark Family. In 2010, the group was allied with Los Perros del Mal and supported by The Militia, a group of lesser rudos.

Through 2008, Konnan fought for the ownership of AAA. In October 2008, he won the rights to own AAA via a War Games style cage match. When Konnan controlled AAA, it was not uncommon for other AAA rudos to partner with the Legion where it benefits both sides much like Vipers Revolution had in the past. This would last until TripleMania in June 2009, when Konnan lost his power and the Legión disbanded from a mega stable. The Dark Family resumed operating as a regular group, Kenzo Suzuki split to form La Yakuza, and Electroshock and Silver King teamed with Dr. Wagner Jr. to form Los WagnerManiacos. Other Legion members remained partners, but no longer considered themselves part of the Legion.

Legión Extranjera resurfaced in fall of 2009. Konnan returned, saying he was still under contract to AAA and the promotion could not keep him out of AAA while under contract. The Legion resumed, grouping back together the wrestlers who had previous split. Those who refused to join the group were attacked and laid out for their betrayal (most notable Electroshock.) The new lineup also featured foreign women who were around for longer stretches than previously.

In 2010, the group became a sub group under the La Sociedad umbrella.

Current Members
* Konnan (leader)
* Dorian Roldan (leader/sponsor)
* Zorro
* Chessman - unclear when he actually joined the group, but became a member at some point
* Hernandez - returned to AAA at Rey de Reyes 2010 as an old friend of Konnan.
* El Ilegal
* Jennifer Blake
* Hijo de Tirantes - rudo referee allied with the group, occasionally forced to call matches without bias

Perros del Mal and The Militia are aligned with the group under the La Sociedad banner.

As usual, any other rudo on the roster might be allied with the Legion, or might fight them to defend AAA, depending on the night.

Former Members (of this version)
* Roxxi and Lorelei Lee have appeared with this version of group in late 2009, but just for single appearances.
* Goddess was introduced as a member but kicked out after one appearance.
* Tirantes was a major associate of this iteration of the group, but left AAA in October 2009. His son Hijo de Tirantes has already taken his spot as rudo referee aligned with this group.
* Nicho el Millionario & Joe Lider often worked with this group, but insisted they were mercenaries and not bound to the group by more than their payoffs.
* Teddy Hart - suspended by AAA and later quit the promotion.
* Rocky Romero - joined the group on the July 4, 2010 TV taping but quit the promotion following the taping.
* Rain
* Alex Koslov - left AAA in October 2010 for a WWE developmental deal.
* Christina Von Eerie
* Kenzo Suzuki - though he made a big deal about going on out his own to start La Yakuza, quietly returned to this group when the Yakuza fell apart. Left AAA in July 2010 to return to Japan.
* Christopher Daniels and Nosawa have made appearances as members of the Legion.

Notes
Originally from Baja California, Nautilius came into AAA as part of their "Nueva Imagen" campaign as a tecnico and feuded with nemesis Aliens. He didn't stick around too long. He made a short return to the promotion to play the role of Triple A (the wrestler) but the gimmick was very unsuccessful and didn't even last as long as Nautilius did.

After doing an Abismo Negro knock off gimmick in the independents, Angel Mensajero (his name on the indies) made one appearance under that name on AAA TV, then later returned to AAA under another new name, one that made more of an impression.

Abismo Negro pulled one of his occasional vanishing acts in fall of 2007. In storyline (and perhaps elsewhere), his followers in Vipers Revolution resented Abismo not being around to support them, and Mr. Niebla led a coup to kick Abismo out of the group. Despite Abismo winning two singles matches to remain in control of the group, AAA bizarrely ruled in favor of Mr. Niebla being in control and Abismo being out of the group. This did not end the rivalry. Mr. Niebla's next move was to replace Abismo Negro in the group, but he surprised everyone by bringing a new Abismo Negro character as the replacement.

Called Black Abyss, the former Angel Mensajero fit the role perfectly. The Angel Mensajero character had basically been an indy version of Abismo Negro, and he just the same outfits as the original Abismo Negro (just wearing another color.) Black Abyss first debuted masquerading as Abismo Negro; the other Vipers had chained the original in the locker room, and Black Abyss took his place in the match, turning on his tecnico partners. No one quite figured out what was happening until the original ran out after the match to confront his clone.

The idea of Black Abyss appears to have been a subtle in-joke based on the other Vipers. The Psicosis and Histeria in the group are also replacements, and not the original Histeria or Psicosis. Also Mr. Niebla once defeated Mr. Niebla, after a court battle over ownership of this name. Even odder, Black Abyss would quietly start to live his own the gimmick, and became the new Abismo Negro.

The Vipers Revolution/Abismo Negro feud never really had a conclusion. They'd feud for one to three months, then the original Abismo Negro would disappear from the company, with no public explanation but plenty of rumors. AAA had advertised a Mr. Niebla vs Abismo Negro mask match for TripleMania and later replaced it with a Vipers/Abismo cage mask match, but neither occurred because Abismo's absence. Instead, Psicosis, Histeria and Black Abyss were in a random trios match on TripleMania, while Mr. Niebla returned to CMLL on the same night.

AAA did not appear to have much use for the Vipers without Abismo Negro around to feud with them and were angry with Abismo Negro for his unreliability. Still, the character of Abismo Negro was still very popular. During the summer of 2008, Black Abyss wrestled under the Abismo Negro name on some untelevised spot shows. Black Abyss acknowledged the change in interviews, but fans were largely unaware of the substitution. Before AAA brought the change to television, the original made his return to the promotion again, and Black Abyss went back to that name to feud with him.

Still, Abismo was in and out for the rest of 2008 and early 2009. Black Abyss would disappear from TV, then be brought back to TV when Abismo Negro returned. The two feuded thru the spring of 2009, including facing off in a Rey de Reyes semifinal, until Abismo Negro's passing.

After Abismo Negro's death, there was discussion of Black Abyss either taking over the Abismo Negro (which would be acknowledged this time) and working as a tecnico as a tribute, or getting a new name to get a new start. Instead of either of those, Black Abyss just made one last TV match under that name, and then spent most of 2009 working the occasional spot show in the same role, but never on television.

On October 30, a new AAA wrestler named Mantra debuted on TV. It was rumored that Mantra was the new identity of Black Abyss, but never conclusively proven.

In December 2009 a new group of Vipers entered AAA, led by Black Abyss, including the third generation of Psicosis and Histeria and a newcomer, Amnesia.
