Mario Gomez Najera was born in Pachuca, Hidalgo on October 22, 1930.
At the age of he attended the Centro Social y Deportivo Pachuca in order to practice weightlifting and he met amateur wrestlers.  He befriended with them and began his in ring training.  He made his debut in a small Arena in Tulancingo on 1950 under the name of '''Lino Mayo'''.  His second ring name was '''Roble Ocadiz'''. Francisco Flores gave him the opportunity to train at [[Arena Afición]].  One day he was reading a book about the Ancient Egypht; he got the idea to create the character of '''Karis La Momia'''.  In 1956 he made his at [[Arena Libertad]] his entrance was inside a casket causing terror to the crowd.  This character caused great expectations becoming a draw to the crowds just to see him.
