Profile
Biography
In the beginning he was not really a Lucha Libre fan. He was just invited by one of his friends to train and he liked so much. Vicente was a fast learner and in a short period of time he wrestled against the same friend who invited him and won. The trainers were impressed for his progress and saw potential despite of his height and weight.
He spent about seven years training with Los Cadaveres, then he continued with Rafael Salamanca. He saw his potencial as well, but he adviced him to go to other places, because he could not get opportunities due to his size.
His debut was unmasked under the name of Jose Cruz. He used that name for a couple of times, however he was not really convinced. He found a book about the Romans and he liked that culture and finally he renamed as Romano Garcia. At some point of his career que wrestled as Sombra de Plata III.
His first matches were in Plaza de Toros Huamantla and Arena Xalapa. During those days he received advice from Los Escorpion I, Escorpion II, Leo Lopez, Bruno Victoria, and Dick Angelo.
When he joined to Los Diabolicos they became rivals of Los Arqueros del Espacio. From that trio he had a rivalry with Lasser. He belonged to LLI usually as an opener, and joined the El Toreo tribute group UWE in 2009.
He met the promoter Carlos Elizondo in Monterrey, who gave opportunities to Los Diabolicos in big events as openers like the masks vs masks between Los Brazos vs Villanos. He told Romano about changing his gimminck since Los Diabolicos disbanded. Elizondo came up with the idea of masking Romano as Mr. Cóndor.
When he went back to Mexico City, he was invited by Antonio Peña to his AAA which he was starting. Mr. Cóndor wrestled there from the start of the promotion thru 2008. Best known as Mr. Condor during that stretch, though likely worked under a number of identities when not in his usual spot as an solid opening card wrestler. Evolved into as a veteran who'd face young wrestlers just starting on television. His mask loss to Rey Misterio Jr. early in Misteiro's career is probably his most historically important match for whom Misterio would become.
Besides of his in ring career he is the head trainer in Gimnasio Hercules. He always saw Ray Mendoza and Rene Guajardo as his role models. Lucha Libre for him is life and his everything.
