The Azteca Championship is a professional wrestling singles championship promoted by Lucha Libre Azteca.

Current Champion

Atlantis is the current champion, he defeating Blue Panther and Hector Garza on December 12, 2010 in Arena Solidaridad of Monterrey, Nuevo Leon.

History of Championship

In the winter of 2009, the promotion Lucha Libre Azteca announced that TV Azteca created a new championship to the wrestlers from CMLL, but this title will be defended in Monterrey. In December 19, 2010, in Arena Monterrey, 12 wrestlers of CMLL participating in a tournament of 1 night to crown the first champion. In the final, Ultimo Guerrero beat Atlantis and became the first ever Azteca Champion.
