Discovery is the current champion. He defeated Skayde on March 10, 2012 in Grand Plaza El Mesias of Elgin, Illinois.
History of Championship
The title was created shortly after the creation of NWA Mexico. A tournament was announced in early October and the tournament took place on November 1, 2008 with veteran wrestler Skayde becoming the first champion by defeating Turbo and Trauma II in the finals of a tournament on 11/1/08 in Gimnasio Juan de la Barrera.
On March 10, 2012 during an event of GALLI in Elgin, Illinois, Skayde lost the title against Discovery, who remains as champion until December 9, 2012 when defend his title versus Emperador Azteca. After the match, an official of new administration of NWA said GALLI that their not endorsed the matches by NWA Mexico titles out of promotion events. GALLI take the decision of return the title to Mexico and since these day named Emperador Azteca as first GALLI Mexico Champion.
