Notes
Before becoming a wrestler, Negro Azteca a sports background in soccer, bodybuilding, and weightlifting which lead him to practice Lucha Libre. He used to go to the Arnold Gym to practice weightlifting in that place there were also a group of wrestlers trained by an old wrestler named El Sastre. He began to train him for a while until two of the four trainees left the gym. Then he decided to continue his training with Príncipe Negro. He remembers El Estudiante as a role model, he wanted to be like him. Currently new generations of wrestlers in Mexicali want to be like Negro Azteca.
After three years of training his professional wrestling debut was on May 14, 1986 in a singles match against Furia Roja in which Azteca won. He began as a masked idol and he had a long rivalry with Humilde which lead to a lucha de apuestas. He lost his mask against Alas de Oro, nevertheless, his mask loss did not damaged his career on the contrary that loss pushed him to greater things.
At some point in the mid 1990s he assumed a new identity the Rockin Devil, which was based on a rock band with all due permission. Nevertheless he only used that gimmick for about six months and went back as Negro Azteca.
He earned the nickname of "El Asesino del Ring" after a match against Maleficio. He beaten Maleficio sending him to the hospital.
