WCW was an American wrestling promotion that existed from 1988 to 2001.
It's place in the history of Lucha Libre should never be underestimated, as it was the first promotion to showcase the talents of Mexican wrestlers on a big level in the US with the When Worlds Collide PPV in November 1994. WCW also brought many luchadores into America during the mid to late 1990's giving many stars including Eddie Guerrero, Juventud Guerrera, Konnan, La Parka, Psicosis and Rey Misterio Jr., a stepping stone into American fame.
