Arena Coliseo Acapulco was an arena in Acapulco, Guerrero.
Arena Coliseo Acapulco was the home of weekly, then later biweekly, CMLL shows on Wednesday nights. The arena opened December 11, 1953 [1] with a match between Sugi Sito & Tarzan Lopez. Similar to Arena Puebla and Arena Coliseo Guadalajara, the shows would feature a few matches of CMLL Mexico City luchadors and and a regular group of locals in the early matches.
CMLL stopped running the arena regularly in 2006, due to declining turnouts. It's believed CMLL sold the arena around this point. Local promoters made attempts at restarting the tradition every year or so, but none took. The last attempt at running here was in 2015, and the arena has since been converted into a basketball arena. The local wrestlers who wrestled here previously are now holding shows in Unidad Deportiva de Acapulco.
