Those are all the confirmed Lucha Libre TV shows in North America. Overseas you only have CMLL TV on Samurai TV but they edit the first 30 minutes of the Mexican show out and only air the Arena Mexico matches. I'm guessing they are missing more now with CMLL TV being extended to 2:30-3:00 in Mexico. | Those are all the confirmed Lucha Libre TV shows in North America. This is a good idea. We could definiely set up a couple of pages to put together (and link in a lot of cases; no need for the guys keeping track of the WWA stuff to have to repeat) for this sort of purpose. It's on the Things To Do list. (Thing to Do #1: Post thing to do list.) | |||

bios DONE! --thecubsfan 23:55, 1 Sep 2005 (CDT)
You are my hero. Now... let's start adding new ones. The world needs a VAGABUNDO bio for sure. We also need a new cool front page, like the real wikipedia, to announce what's new, etc. Do I leave that to you? wagner/panther 00:22, 2 Sep 2005 (CDT)
Now, we just have to work on making sure everything's linked up (especially in the biography sections), and oh yeah, there's this big huge list of pages that need information. I guess I'll go through and start editing existing articles, putting links and cleaning up the writing. --Suplexmasta 07:16, 2 Sep 2005 (CDT)
Also, while I'm thinking about it, could someone talk to Rev Ray from DVDVR and see if he'd let us use his Big Big Book of Wrestling Moves to fill out some of the move descriptions. If not, I could write up descriptions and find pics, but if I can use the BBBOWM, I only have to find pics, which is much easier. Just an idea, though.--Suplexmasta 07:20, 2 Sep 2005 (CDT)
For generic moves I think it's a good idea. For flying moves or lucha submissions I'd rather have Rob Bihari do the descriptions if he's up for it. Also once this is "open" and people is fully aware, I imagine people will start adding stuff. I think we need to set up some rules. Here's some suggestions and let's see what everybody thinks.
- If a wrestler has wrestled even just once in Mexico, he/she qualifies. Example: Nishimura, American Dragon. Exeption would be WWE wrestlers. HHH, Randy Orton, don't qualify. - If a wrestler has never wrestled in Mexico, he/she doesn't qualify. Exceptions would be wrestlers who are wrestling real lucha style. ROH, Michinoku Pro, most Texas feds, aren't lucha libre. Some of AWS is lucha libre. Those guys qualify. - This is a lucha encyclopedia and not a picture book. Irrelevant pictures should be deleted. When uploading pictures I'd say "common sense"... but at work I have had bad experiences when leaving people to act on "common sense". :)
Any comments, suggestions, ideas? wagner/panther 13:06, 2 Sep 2005 (CDT)
I agree with all you're saying. I'll see if I can think of anything to add, and then we need to formalize the rules and post them someplace visible.
things to do for me
- redirects (check out faq)
- main page beautify
- tables for apuestas
- tables for Robert's obessive Mistico fanship
- LdP
- Mexican National Trios Titles
All the stuff I'm proposing to be moved off the main page will be kept somewhere on the wiki; I'm just trying to work out to be a main page without a huge scroll bar.
Unless someone has a smart idea for the City/State/Date stuff, I'm just ignoring it for now. I'll get to the titles - even if it's gonna have to be primary ripping off wrestling-titles - sooner.
unrelated: I was reading that Jack O'Brien was the first Mexican National Heavyweight champion and I'm confused - did the 'only (believed) Mexicans can win the Mexican National titles' stipulation come later? unrelated 2: should we use the Community Portal page as a general discussion page and leave this talk for corrections/changes? --thecubsfan 13:37, 2 Sep 2005 (CDT)
Good. We'll formalize the rules and also include stuff about "real name" usage, etc. I'll start adding new shit later today or tomorrow.
O'Brien had a Mexican passport which I think was the "trick". I wondered about it when I wrote about it, too. A few years ago Salsero won some national title as well.
I agree about the portal suggestion. I'm moving this same message there so we can delete this. wagner/panther 13:44, 2 Sep 2005 (CDT)
All accent redirects done. Started w/ alternate gimmick/name redirects. I'm slowly making a list in Sandbox of what needs to be done, please help! Also, maybe we should do this talk page in reverse chronological order (most recent on top)?
Also, I've added a handful of photos to bio galleries, and will add more over the weekend from the 150 best thing Jose scanned Bix 20:01, 2 Sep 2005 (EDT)
Converting some old Jose posts at WC to roughcut bios. First up is Super Muñeco. Bix 17:55, 6 Sep 2005 (EDT)
Added Jose's "Gordy List" & recommended matches for Blue Panther. Where is the Atlantis list available? Did you do one for Villano III (I forget...)? Bix 18:23, 6 Sep 2005 (EDT)
Up-to-date TV listings?
I liked how Robert included places to buy tapes for the matches in his list, so along those lines, how about including a listing of lucha libre being aired on TV in North America? Aside from CMLL, there's at least WWA International on Fox Sports en Espanol, anyone know of any others?
Rob says(I can't figure out how to get the wiki to recognize I am posting something):
It's not OBSESSIVE... okay it's BORDERLINE OBSESSIVE. Leave me be!
