The Azteca Championship is a professional wrestling singles championship promoted by Lucha Libre Azteca.

Current Champion

La Sombra is the current champion. He defeating Atlantis and Volador Jr. on April 24, 2011 in Gimnasio Nuevo León.

History of Championship

In the winter of 2009, the promotion Lucha Libre Azteca announced that TV Azteca created a new championship to the wrestlers from CMLL, but this title will be defended in Monterrey. In December 19, 2010, in Arena Monterrey, 12 wrestlers of CMLL participating in a tournament of 1 night to crown the first champion. In the final, Último Guerrero beat Atlantis and became the first ever Azteca Champion.
