Who is El Angel Negro?
Trained in the now defunct Arena Huracán Ramirez in Mexicali, Baja California. Claimed to be a skilled técnico, rudo, and extremo. Began on 2001 in Mexicali at Arena Huracán Ramirez and at ranches. Then he wreslted in San Diego and the Area of Los Angeles. It is unclear in which promotions in California he wrestled for or if he was still in active competition.
In what it seemed to be an attempt to make a comeback on 2018 in the rings of Mexicali he was challenging the local wrestlers via different social network pages such as Lucha Libre Facebook pages and a lucha libre webshow. His publications in social media gave him notoriety, particularly in a lucha libre web show in which he challenged almost every single guest (even those who were retired) via comments from his Facebook account.
The question from everyone, fans and even guests who were challeged was: Who is El Angel Negro?. There was no joke or sacarsm intended; they really did not know who was him. His statements were dismissed by most of the guests thinking that he was a joke or some sort of social media character seeking for attention.
Only former wrestlers from Arena Huracan Ramirez could recognize him that he was a professional wrestler. However his career his in ring career was barely of four years and it is unclear if he was active in the United States or if he was entirely retired. This character was still challenging local wrestlers from Mexicali for a lucha de apuestas match, one of them was El Musical who decided to ignore him.
The only wrestler who was willing to accept Angel's challenge was Super Sol who was also former wrestler in Arena Huracán Ramírez and one of the former trainers of Angel Negro. People and wrestlers doubt if challenge was serious or if Angel Negro was an actual luchador [1].
Things got serious the day that Angel Negro was invited to challenge Super Sol in a local lucha libre web show on June 20, 2018. There was also the Coordinator of the Commission of Box, Lucha, y Artes Marciales Mixtas de Mexicali to corroborate that Angel Negro was really a wrestler. An out of shape Angel Negro came in person to the web show to challenge the special guest Super Sol in a lucha de apuestas match. Angel Negro produced a wrestling license endorsed by the then commissioner to prove he was an actual wrestler.
The Coordinator announced a Angel's mask & career vs Sol's hair and career for July 22, 2018 at Parque El Centenario in Mexicali, Baja California. The loser would unmask or get his head shaved and retire. Both luchadores agreed with date and stipulations[2].
On July 22, 2018 even with the hot climate (which Mexicali is known for) there was a very good response by the people who went to support Super Sol against the world unknown Angel Negro, they were eager to see the main event. Unfortunately, after the second match Super Sol and the coordinator himself went to the ring to announce that Angel Negro failed to appear. The people was really upset for this. Angel Negro became the first luchador in Baja California who cowered in a lucha de apuestas match. He will remembered by people for being a coward rather than his skills or matches. He dishonored his mask, his career and the sport.
