Early Career

Member of La Dinastía Hernandez, he was a boxer at Arena Coliseo Mexicali when he was young. One day, Rafael Rebelin owner and promoter of the arena saw him boxing and inmediately told his father Caudillo II. His father reprimanded him and even punished. He eventually trained lucha libre with his father then with his brother Príncipe Negro.

His gimmick is based on the cartoon superhero The Atom Ant, because he loves that character. Hormiga Atomica made his debut on 1984 at Arena Coliseo Mexicali in a singles match against El Traidor.

La Hormiguita

This is the nickname which he was well known in Mexicali. Hormiguita was one of the most beloved luchadores in Mexicali especially by children. When he made his entrance children gathered to see him he used to give away cast figures to children that he made. Also made his entrance with Rock n' Roll music and the crowd asked him to dance. Hormiga Atomica used to have El Asquelito as his companion to the ring. He is regarded for his mat skills, but he was also a very agile wrestler who executed high flying moves.

Notable Feuds

Due to his size and weight he competed in the minis division. When Mini Estrellas came to Mexicali, Hormiga Atomica and Pequeño Traidor competed with and against Espectrito, La Parkita, La Arañita, Mascarita Sagrada, and more.

There were luchadores in Mexicali who could not reach the Lightweight Class and for this reason the Mexicali Junior Lightweight Championship was created which is the equivalent to the Featherweight Class for those who weighted below 63 kg. There was a Tournament to find the first Champion which Hormiga Atómica won. He defended the title many times, but particularly against Pequeño Traidor.

When the Junior Lightweight division ended and the belt was declared inactive. He competed in the Lightweight Class in which he had rivalries not only against Pequeño Traidor, but also against Killer Dog who was the Champion of that division for many years. Killer Dog seemed to he the eternal Champion until the day he lost it against Rata Negra. Hormiga Atomica challenged La Rata Negra to become the new Baja California Lightweight Champion. He eventually will have a lucha de apuestas against Rata Negra.

There were several rivals who tried to take his mask. The first was Furia Roja, then a luchador from Guadalajara named Craneo was the second rival who dared but lost against Hormiguita. There was also El Nahual who also lost his hair against Hormiga Atomica. Another rival who was very persistent was the Exotico Rey Saul who lost his hair against Hormiga Atomica at least twice and one of them was in a cage match. One of his most notable and difficult rivals in apuestas matches was La Rata Negra, when Hormiga Atomica took Rata's mask the rudo went back to Mexico City and Rata Negra's loss was published by magazines. There was also a lucha del reves which involved Pequeño Traidor.

Hormiga Atomica not only protagonized matches in the Minis Divison and Lightweight divisions he went in main events against much heavier wrestlers like Mr. Odio.

He is well known in Mexicali and all over Baja California. He had presentations in Hermosillo, Sonora; Mazatlán, Sinaloa; and Ciudad Juárez.

Los Hermanos Caudillos

Originally this Trio was known as Los Caudillos del Ring and it was comprised of Príncipe Negro, Caudillo Jr. and Play Boy. He joined the trio after Play Boy left and went to the trio of Los Renegados with Humilde and Negro Azteca. The trio was renamed as Los Hermanos Caudillos. They protagonized a long rivalry against Los Renegados, when Play Boy left, El Estudiante took his place and that trio would become in La Familia de Mexicali. The rivalry went to the next level when Caudillo I joined to his sons's team and Mr. Odio joined to the rival team.

Retirement

He decided to unmask himself at the end of his retirement match on January 1, 2010 at Arena Nacionalista. He took that decision, because he promise it to his father. However he had appeared in special ocassions after his retirement. The most recent was on 2016 at Arena Nacionalista with his brothers Principe Negro and Caudillo Jr. Against La Familia de Mexicali.
