The CWE World Championship is a professional wrestling championship managed by Costa Rican promotion Costa Rica Wrestling Embassy (CWE). It was established in 2015 as CMLL Costa Rica National Championship.

Current Champion

Joe Kim is the current champion. He defeated Ares on August 11, 2018 in Arena CWE, Desamparados, San José to win the title.

History of Championship

Championship introduced by CWE in 2015. On June 27, 2015, the promotion began a tournament in order to crown their inaugural CMLL Costa Rica National Champion. The tournament took place over several weeks until get the last two survivals, who were faced up in a one-on-one match for the new title. Mexican wrestler Escualo defeated Costa Rican wrestler Luis Carlos Monge to became the first champion.
