EMLL Torneo de la Muerte 1978
EMLL held a ruleta de la muerte tournament on September 17th, 1978 at Palacio de los Deportes.
Tournament Details
This was an 8-team, 16-person losers advance tournament. There was a seeding battle royale that was won by Villano II and Huracan Ramirez. The teams competing in the tournament were:
• Huracan Ramirez and Rayo de Jalisco
• Astro Rey and America Salvaje
• Solar and El Impacto
• Hermano Muerte I and Hermano Muerte II
• Villano I and Villano II
Results
Only partial results were reported and the complete tournament brackets are unknown. The results that were reported appear to be incorrect as somehow Astro Rey and America Salvaje won two matches which should be impossible in a losers advance tournament, since winners do not advance. It is known though that the final match featured Huracan Ramirez and Rayo de Jalisco defeating Hermano Muerte I and Hermano Muerte II for their masks.
