Referee from Mexicali, Baja California, his liking for wrestling began when his father took him to the local events when he was a boy. He trained for more than a year and a half by the veteran referee Patricio Gámez "El Bigotes"; His Lucha Libre trainers were Ángel Mensajero, Luminoso and Iron Boy in the Arena Mexicali when it was under the administration of Jorge González (Bala de Plata). His first experience in a ring was by "mistake" in a show in San Luis Rio Colorado, Sonora a referee was missing and had to replace him when he still had months training. In his "unregistered" debut he had to recount a match between Los Hego Boys against Los Consagrados (Pirata Morgan, Fuerza Guerrera and Sangre Chicana). After his first experience he had to resist the whole process to become a professional. He officially debuts in June 2006, at Palenque del Parque Vicente Guerrero in Mexicali, Baja California. He became the first masked referee even the Antonio Peña acknowledged that he did not have a referee like him in his roster. The idea of being a masked referee was given from one week to another prior to his debut. The promoter, Jorge González, advised him to forget the to wear suspenders, sleeves, or the black gloves that were already trademarks of other referees and that he wanted to do something different. Then he came up with the idea of using a mask similar to the one of The Phantom of the Opera, but with stripes as the shirts of referees. The idea of the name of the Catrín was inspired by a character in the movie The Warriors of 1979 where one of the characters was an umpire of a gang of baseball players and whose uniform and makeup had stripes. He started as an exclusive referee of Arena Mexicali, later the Box and Wrestling Commission of Mexicali requested him to be part of their team, coming to work in all the Arenas de Mexicali. He became part of the EAW. He worked in Auditorio de Tijuana, Mariano Matamoros in Tijuana, San Jose del Cabo, La Paz, and cities in the United States. He has referated in different apuestas and championship bouts as the titular defenses of Angel Mensajero for the DWA Championship against Zumbido and Gran Apache. Even he has a apuestas record where he won 2 hairs in seconds apuestas match of Dr. Tirano and the exotico referee Milo Galant.
