Nueva Generacion Dinamita gave up the Mexican National Trios Championship after winning the CMLL World Trios Championship. CMLL announced an eight-team tournament to decide new champions.

All matches took place in Arena Mexico. The first two rounds took place on taped shows in front of no fans. The dates listed for those are air dates. The taping dates are likely, but not definitely, nine days prior.
