Mexican National Welterweight Tournament, 1975
As part of a flurry of title 1975 title changes, Fishman won the NWA World Welterweight Championship while holding the Mexican National Welterweight Championship. Fishman was required to give up the national title by rule. He quickly lost the world title in the ring to Blue Demon, going from two titles to zero in a matter of months. EMLL waited a while to fill this vacancy, by which time Fishman was cleared to participate.
The tournament included four men, with a match a week.
