History of Championship

Here was previously defended the AAA Northern Tag Team Championship, the Northeast Tag Team Championship, and the Nuevo Leon Junior Tag Team Championship. Since none of those championships appears to remain active at the time, the Nuevo Leon Tag Team Championship can be a fusion of all those titles.

The Nuevo Leon Tag Team Championship was officially retired on December 10, 2014 when Producciones Casanova (PCLL) announced the creation of its own PCLL Tag Team Championship. The PCLL Tag Team became the main tag team championships in Nuevo León.
