Talk:CMLL World Heavyweight Championship

From Luchawiki

I thought that Silver King picture should be of him as champion, but on the thread I saw it, the dates they give for the Zandokan match don't fit with his title reign. --thecubsfan 22:24, 7 June 2006 (CDT)

Date has to be wrong b/c there is no way of confusing the CMLL Heavy Title(at that time) with ANY other belt.--Robert 00:00, 8 June 2006 (CDT)

Porky as champ?

A picture on this post has Porky wearing the belt on 1993.08.05 and defending it against Silver King. Black Magic should still be champion at that point by what we've got, and Porky's not listed as champ ever (though he is on his profile.) Confused --thecubsfan 11:55, 24 January 2007 (EST)

I just ran across that as well and am equally confused. I have no records of him ever winning the title, let alone making any defenses.--Robert 01:05, 18 February 2007 (EST)

Would you believe I've found a second source for Porky's title reign - and it's Check the picture of Porky having two (old style) CMLL belts at once. --thecubsfan 22:26, 3 March 2007 (EST)

I just read about this change in the Observer. Funny note from the match is it drew approx. 500 fans to Arena Mexico and due to the low attendance for such an important match, the following two weeks of Sunday Arena Mexico shows (since they ran Arena Mex twice a week back in the day) were cancelled which led to all future Sunday Arena Mex shows cancelled. No wonder nobody ever knew about the title switch, even Box y Lucha, the official history magazine of Lucha Libre, refused to attend.:)--Robert 23:19, 17 May 2007 (EDT)
