Career
Garuda's career is kind of interesting. Began as a promising Japanese rookie. Compared to Hayabusa physically and eventually considered to be his successor.
On September 2002, he traveled to Mexico to learn the Lucha Libre style just like a young Hayabusa did early on his career in order to become a more effective wrestler[1]. Began his training in IWRG, but it was interrupted due to Hayabusa's tragic accident on October 22, 2001. Morita had to go back to Japan and fill in Hayabusa's place.
The FMW was going through various budget problems and the attendance at its events was declining, and Hayabusa was the heart of the extreme company. In a desperate measure, promoter Kodo Fuyuki announced that he would bring in a masked superstar from Mexico to save FMW and that he would become the new ace of the company.
Even the media of that time published how Kodo Fuyuki met the “Mexican superstar” who would save FMW at Narita Airport. Fuyuki would announce that his name was "Garuda". His official debut at Yokohama Ninja Gym was not what was expected. The young Garuda couldn't do much against a rival like Genichiro Tenryu who is considered one of the greatest of all time in Japan. Shortly it was decided that Garuda would return to Mexico to resume his training and return better prepared.
In some Mexican magazines of the time such as Luchas 2000 and Super Luchas, Garuda was presented as Hayabusa's successor. Unfortunately, he would not have another match in FMW. Because while Garuda was still preparing in the Mexican Independent circuit, FMW presented its last show on February 4, 2002 to declare bankruptcy on February 15 of that year. Garuda eventually went back to his home country in different promotions.
