Ku Klux Klan is the current champion having defeated Diamante Azul in his first defense on August 12, 2012 in San Luis Potosi. However Diamante Azul did not bring the belt to the match so his CMLL Tag Team Titles was used as the physical belt which could mean the title change will not be recognized officially or it could lead to both men eventually claiming to be champion down the line.
