Two feuds combined into one cage match as the headline attraction at this year's Verano De Escandalo. Long-time AAA wrestler Kick Boxer (though only pushed as a main event since 1998) lost his mask to his nemesis Heavy Metal in the main event. Both Pepe Casas and Tirantes got involved in the match.
The real story from this show wouldn't actually be considering a huge story until a few months later. Perro Aguayo ended up working one of his last matches for AAA in the semi-main event. He had been doing a retirement tour for over a year at this point so nobody really took it seriously but this did end up being his last show in Mexico City for AAA. He worked one more taping in Leon a few months later and by the start of the following year he was shooting an angle in CMLL.
This show also marked the debut of [[Oriental]] in AAA as he did a run-in after the opener to save his sisters from an attack by Pentagon.

Other Notes

This show also marked the debut of Oriental in AAA as he did a run-in after the opener to save his sisters from an attack by Pentagon.
